Tanase Peckham

SSD is the home and workplace of Dressage Equestrienne, Tanase Peckham. Tanase is jointly responsible, along with Deb Peckham, for the day to day care of all our horses and has extensive equine experience.

In 2006 Tanase attended Kurri Kurri Technical College completing a Certificate 11 in Animal Care. The course covered topics from daily animal care to Veterinary Procedures. Having been involved with horses all her life she has extensive knowledge within the equine industry and her future plans include undertaking further Equine related health training.

Tanase has  ridden since the age of two and has dedicated  herself to her  chosen discipline – Dressage.

From the age of 14 Tanase trained regularly with Rozzie Ryan and for three years with Harry Boldt during his NSW sojourns. Australian horsemen, Steve Brady and Adam Sutton (horse trainer: Man From Snowy River set) have also had an influence on her interaction with horses.

Training to the level of GP/Inter 2 and riding competitively to Intermdiarre 1, Tanase has been a member of both State and National Young Dressage Rider Squads and has been selected to  Australian  representative teams on a number of occasions

In 2004 an 8 month stint in Germany provided further valuable training, initially with the classical instructor and former Dutch National Dressage Coach, Rick Klaassen who had trained with George Theodorescu and then later under the guidance of Marion Wilimzig  (Reiner Klimke) and Mathirs Vatter (Klaus Balkenhol) at Gut Romerhof in Dusseldorf.

It is Tanase’s intention to return overseas for regular training stints during future years in her constant search for excellence.

In Australia, Tanase has spent time at Christine Doan’s establishment in Cairns assisting with the training and preparation of horses for auction. Her most recent endeavour is the establishment of Southern Stars Dressage.

Tanase currently trains with Clemens Dierks, former Australian National dressage coach and attends clinics with Stefan Wolff (Klaus Balkenhol protégé) when he is in Australia.
